| How do I change my contact informations? | ||
|
You can make all your domain name information changes by clicking on the "modifications" link to your left, or by clicking here. All changes to DNS information and contacts are free. |
||
| How do I modify my DNS information? | ||
| The same instructions apply with DNS information as they do with Contact modifications. Just click here or on the Modifications link to the left of your screen. | ||
| I made an error in my domain name when I register it. Can I change the name? | ||
|
Yes, but only if you are registering a .ca, and you have not yet confirmed the registration at the cira.ca/cira/detenteurs page. If you did not confirm yet, just log onto that page, and do not use the confirm button but rather the Cancel button. If you prefer, you can also send us an email at domainchanges@zid.com and tell us to cancel the registration for you, as well as tell us what modification you would like to make to the domain name. We ask that you be very carefull when registering a domain name, as it is impossible for us to cancel the registration and reimburse you if you have already entered your credit card and submited your registration. Once registration is complete, no refunds are possible from ICANN or CIRA. |

| How can I obtain a certificate of property declaring me the single manager and administrator of my domain name? | ||
|
There is no actual certificate or property for domain names. If you need absolutely need printed documents for some reason, you can do a "whois" on your domain name, and print that page. As for legal ownership, the fact that you are registered in the CIRA or Internic database as being the owner of the domain name is all the proof you or anyone else need to have.

| When I registered my .ca domain name, I got an email from CIRA saying "Upgrade domain to second level: No upgrade". What does this mean? | ||
| This means that when you registered your domain name, you did not wish to register a second level domain name (like .qc.ca or .mb.ca). You can still register the second level domains if you want, at the regular cost of a domain name. | ||
| I own a .ca domain name, but I also want the second level, or vise versa (for example, someone owns xyz.ca and wants xyz.on.ca), how do I obtain it? How much does it cost? | ||
| If you own a domain name and wish to purchase a second level, or vise versa, you can do so by contacting us at sales@zid.com. We will register the second or top level for you at the cost of $29.95 CDN per level per year. | ||
| I registered my domain name, but I did not receive the information that I need to upload my website. What is the FTP information? What are my username and password? | ||
| When you register a domain name, you are registering just that. The registration does not include hosting on the ZiD.com servers, although we do offer excellent hosting starting at $9.95 US ($15.00 CDN) per month. In order to upload your website, you will have to subscribe to a web hosting company, either ZiD.com or another. | ||
| How do I transfer or sell my domain name? | ||
| In order to transfer your domain name, you will have to contact us in order for us to gather the information we need to start the process. A $59.95 CDN charge is applicable to the current owner of the domain name when transfering or selling a domain name. | ||
